Chena Hot Springs | Pleasant Valley, AK
Relax in a natural hot spring as you gaze up in wonder at the dancing colors of the Aurora Borealis! You and your loved one can experience this and so much more when you visit Chena Hot Springs in Pleasant Valley, Alaska, about 60 miles northeast of Fairbanks. Even in the winter when the air is bitterly cold, these springs stay hot due to being in a geothermal area. If this isn’t enough to get those sparks flying, we don’t know what will! Bring your RV and camp out at Chena Hot Springs Resort’s campground! While none of the sites have hookups, you’ll be able to find plenty to sustain you around the campground. This campground has potable water, a dump station, and laundry facilities!
Padre Island National Seashore | Corpus Christi, TX
What’s more romantic than watching baby sea turtles clumsily make their way from their nest on shore to the lapping waters of the Gulf of Mexico? When you visit Padre Island National Seashore, you can watch as these babies take to the crystal blue waters for the first time in their lives. This South Texas destination is loaded with fun activities that are perfect for a romantic getaway! You can wander hand in hand along the trails, relax on the beach together, or watch the sun set from a kayak out on the Laguna Madre! At the end of the day, you can set up your campsite right on the island! There are no hookups but they do offer a dump station and a water filtration station. They don’t take reservations, so be sure to get there early to claim your spot, and make sure you have a camping permit. Permits can be purchased at a kiosk at the entrance to the park.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park | Gatlinburg, TN
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is beautiful no matter when you visit, but there is a two-week period each spring when it blossoms into a romantic, breathtaking sight to see. During this time, fireflies mate and can be seen blinking in unison. In fact, this is the only species of firefly that can all blink in unison! This park is also home to elk and black bear, so make sure you have your camera ready. There are a few options for camping at Great Smoky Mountain National Park. There is a backcountry area for backpackers only, and a frontcountry camping area for RVers. And if you and your Valentine are equestrians, you can bring your horses along to venture off on the 550 miles of trials that are open to horses.
Ricketts Glen State Park | Benton, PA
Imagine a romantic getaway that includes hiking on lush, green trails and coming upon waterfall after waterfall! This is what you’ll find at Ricketts Glen State Park! This park is home to 24 named waterfalls, and many more that haven’t been named yet! Pack a picnic and enjoy the scenery, take a dip in one of the lakes, or explore one of the many streams. This is truly a destination where you can just get away from it all and be with one another amongst nature’s splendor! You’ll find excellent camping accommodations at Ricketts Glen State Park! There are 120 sites to choose from in the campground, some of which are right on the water! Around the campground you’ll find a dump station, modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, potable water, and tons more!
Napa Valley | Napa, CA
Enjoy beautiful Napa Valley by train! The historic Napa Valley Wine Train will take you on a journey through one of the most successful wine-growing areas in the world. The train consists of railcars that are 100 years old and a rail corridor that’s 150 years old! Talk about old-world charm! Each car is named after a different wine and offers a different feel! Sip award-winning wines and dine on some of the finest cuisine as you travel through beautiful wine country. Aside from a trip on the train, you can travel around Napa Valley and visit some of the vineyards and wineries in person.

Aside from all the romantic beauty, you can head out on a canoe or kayak, float along on an inner tube, check out the bottom of the spring with a snorkel, and see some amazing wildlife! Another romantic gem in Florida is Falling Waters State Park! This park is host to Florida’s highest waterfall, sinkholes that are great for swimming, beautiful trails to wander on, and a butterfly garden where you can sneak a few smooches! Throughout the park you’ll also find many interpretive exhibits like kiosks, information on bats, the first oil well ever drilled in Florida, and much more! Camping at Falling Waters State Park is a dream. Located at the top of a waterfall, the campground is at the highest elevation in the state! You’ll find your campsite located amongst the trees and each site has electric and water hookups. Modern restrooms with showers and a dump station are both located within the campground so you’ll have everything you need for a comfy stay!
Hocking Hills State Park | Logan, OH
If natural beauty is your idea of romance, then Hocking Hills State Park is the place for you! The scenic areas here are so serene you can’t help but fall in love! Waterfalls, caves, cliffs, and amazing rock outcrops are just some of what you’ll find on your way through this park! Have a picnic in one of the caves or on a cliff, climb the rock formations, or even test your skills at the archery range! All this and more awaits you in this beautiful sandstone region! Campsites are abundant at Hocking Hills State Park, which is great because once you’re here you won’t want to leave!
